April 2024 DM: Week 2

Papers
(always feel free to diverge, interpret broadly or skip prompts as your creative process demands)
Take a look at some paper kits that you like and consider how the papers are balanced. How many large patterns vs small patterns are there? How many multicolored patterns vs 2 color? How many have dark backgrounds vs light? What interesting textures or styles are included to make it feel cohesive? I will be creating the following paper prompts based on my own feelings for a well balanced paper kit. But feel free to diverge from the prompts if you think you can create a better balance. Also, feel free to use these prompts to make elements or pocket cards if you're not interested in papers.

Apr 6 - 1 stripe pattern
Apr 7 - 1 floral pattern, small
Apr 8 - 1 floral pattern, large
Apr 9 - 1 plaid pattern (check out this amazing plaid tutorial here)
Apr 10 - 1 paper with interested interesting texture
Apr 11 - solid papers
Apr 12 - catch up

Share below your progress, finished designs and of course any questions!

You may use for PU only

Debbie, Catch Up is exactly that... its a designated day to let you catch up with anything that you weren't able to get done on the day of the original prompt.

Thank you for the help! There's a lot I'm trying to figure out. And yes, I bought the plaid Action. Expecting to be able to learn installing and using.

Thank you.

Thanks much Marisa.

Firstfruits Papers, this is so soft and pretty.

Lovely.

I especially like the little yellow flowers by Emerald Jay. Just darling!. Nice work by all the ladies smiley

Lovely papers everyone! Again, let me know if you have any questions when making your papers.

So beautiful. Some pretty talented people here.

Love what everyone is making. I tried to participate, but I had already made half of the prompts in my papers from last week. Lost my mojo trying to come up with new ideas. I do have a few, but they might be too lofty. I may still finish by the end of the month though. I think maybe the big picture first is better for me.

Very pretty.

Love all these papers!

Well, I managed to finish my papers! Edited to add plaid. I love the plaid tutorial and Elif's actions. I have also wondered how Jessica made those unique and gorgeous plaids. So grateful for a community that shares. I will upload to the Commons soon.

I used the May Blog Train limited palette. I would never have chosen these colors, but I do like the way they turned out. Glad to have the practice. I'm getting a little better!
